1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, reserve 2 egg whites
1-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup brown sugar
1. Heat oven to 350.
2. Mix first 7 ingredients.
3. Spread very thin in a greased 13x9 pan.
4. Sprinkle with chopped nuts
5. Beat egg whites stiff and add brown sugar.
6. Spread over nuts and bake 30 minutes.
7. Cut into squares while hot. Yield: 24 2-inch squares.
